I am the worst blogger in the world

I cannot seem to keep up with this blogging thing. Well the last month in synopsis....

We were going to get a loan to remodel our house but the guy that was going to do our loan quit right in the middle of the process. I took this as a very bad sign, so I cancelled the whole process.

Now we want to sell our house and buy a new house.

We measured our house the other day and it is 1500 sq feet and not 2100 like we had thought. The realtor said that when we bought it and so did the inspector. We never thought to question it. I had always thought well I can't buy a new house because we'll end up in something much smaller, but everything is 1500 sq ft. I just feel kindof stupid. : )

My old friend Brian's band is losing a member. I feel kindof bad for him. I offered to help out but he doesn't email me or reply to my comments on his blog so I guess oh well. I apologized for leaving the band before. I felt I should do that.

Isabella is starting to walk and she says cat dog momma dada angel JD claw (claudia) and gah guh and buh. She has her top two teeth and her bottom two teeth. She doesn't want to be held anymore and she likes to walk around the coffee table banging toys and she loves to play roll the ball.

Claudia is turning into a real athelete. She jumps and then runs really fast. She can catch and throw and kick really well for a 3 year old. Yesterday she said she wanted a violin. we asked her what that was and she made the hand motions and made a sound like a violin, very cute and funny.

JD is doing well. He continues in speech classes and balance classes. He is also doing well in school and has become teachable again. He has been stuck on telling us that he cant do certain things and won't tell us why he can't do something. It is very annoying.

Angel has been working for about a month at the maiden form store in the mall. She is doing very well. She keeps wasting all of her money though on everybody else. We went to the Skillet/1000 foot crutch concert. The sound was incredibly bad. The bass was kicked up so high you could not hear anything. I had to leave the building a couple of times. Mostly I just watched movies on my zen. I watched Mad Max and Robocop 3. The bands were okay but I don't really like live performances. I like the controlled sound of CDS anymore. I would like to see Tom Waits in concert.

I bought a new computer. Its a dell. it has all the bells and whistles. I got it on sale. it was 699. It has a quad processor, 4 gig ram, 256 mb video card, 500 gig HD dvd cd burner, tv tuner, sound b laster 5.1 sound card, unfortunately it has vista. I wish I could have gotten something else, but I'm not computer guy. I should be able to blow up some crap with that. We are going to combine that with a 32 in lcd tv that we are getting. It will be very cool. We are getting rid of both of our tube tvs and keeping just the one giant media center monster in the family room. It should give us better control over the content that our kids try to get into.

I found a bunch of my old comix. Bloodlines, AVP, The Demon, Hitman, Batman, Superman, and other assorted books. They are very stupid with the exception of AVP and the batman comix. The Demon and Superman books are very cheesy junk.

Oh well til next month...As Tom Waits would say...."Leave me alone you big ole moon...."

Easter and a whole month since last blogging

I spent Easter at my parents house. Everything went well. My aunt said the "N" word about 6 times. Everyone cringed everytime she said it. Uncomforable silences after every time. I got in some good nap times. a good 3 hour nap. Mom kept JD my 9 year old for the week. Yay! He's a good boy, but he makes my head hurt with his complex questions. Sometimes I just tell him that I don't feel like discussing the finer points of converting DVDs to nds format. I got a new laptop by selling my old laptop. I sold my dell for 485 and I bout a brand new laptop for 500 a toshiba.

The Toshiba has way more everything plus built in WIFI and yeek! Vista. Vista seems alright for what I do with it so no complaints. I guess people just love the Dell mystique of quality. Its not really true. Dells are no better than anything else. The Toshiba weighs about half of what the Dell does and it has a separate graphics card. The Rom feels very cheap and the locking mechanism does work very well.

I gave my son my old digital camera. I thought he was going to explode with excitement. I give him a month before it won't even turn on. He loves electronics but he thinks he is some sort of mad engineer scientist and he won't stop fiddling with things that don't need to be fiddled with, like the screen tolerance levels. Hmmmm...i wonder how hard I can push on this before it breaks.

It has been extremely hard figuring out how to treat JD since he has been diagnosed with Asberger Syndrome. The syndrome makes the kid really smart in some ways and very socially inept. He doesn't understand alot. He also tries to take advantage of this. He tries to get away with stuff by telling us that his syndrome made him do it. It does make him slow as all get out. He starts daydreaming and can't keep focus.

I made an A in my Federal Taxation course. That make 4 As and 1 B. Stupid B. I have a 3.8 GPA. I also took an IQ test and I scored a 144, which is genius level. Who da thunkt it. My wife scored a 104. She was really mad. She thought that we would both score around the 120s. I was really tired too so I probably missed some of the logic questions because I was sleepy. She made me take another test just to make sure and I scored another 144. Now I just need to make everybody understand me for the extremly intelligent awesomeness that is me. My superlative gray matter must be put to exponentially beneficial use. I hate that I took that test because now I feel my ego expanding. : )

The Homeless Library and Asperger

I went to our local Library or as I like to call, Club homeless people. The library has no good books and it is full of homeless people trying to get on to surf the web. Techi homeless people, what has our world become. I looked up 10 different books on aspergers syndrome and the reference said that they were all check in but they were not. Our Library in Concord is the main branch and they have the crappiest selection of books and movies. We suspect that our son JD has Aspergers Syndrome. It is kindof a very light form of autism. Einstien had it and Bill Gates has it. So the disease is manageable. The syndrome makes you kindof focus on certain things, to the exclusion of everything else, thus you become an expert at that one thing. Bill Gates, business, and einstien, physics. JD can't stop thinking about computers, electronics, cell technology, but he doesn't know much applicable knowledge, mainly just theory. I always thought he had some sort of autism by the way he would interact with people. You would be talking to him and having a conversation, but it was like he wasn't there. He didn't understand anything you said to him. One of the sydromes symptoms is that they cannot understand metaphor or sarcasm. JD definitely cannot understand these. If you say"go break a leg". He literally thinks that you want him to break his leg. If you say that your strength is like a bear. He thinks that you are like related to a bear or you are a bear. We have to completely change our parenting style. We thought that he was just disrespectful, arrogant, and lazy. He in actuality, cannot help it. He would always say that he didn't understand why he was in trouble for certain things, and I thought he was just playing dumb. He really didn't know why he was in trouble. According to his mind, he was just strolling along minding his own business, being perfect, when a big ogre, Me, came along and started to punish him for no reason. Well any way, its nice to have finally figured out what to do.

Title unknown. Access Denied......

I made the worst grade ever on my test on saturday. I was using a stop watch from the net to keep track of my time and I was going to go back over my answers when I clicked over to the countdown and it said, 3 minutes remaining. It had actually only been like 1 hour and 6 minutes. I had set the clock for 2 and half hours. I guess the stupid thing was counting down twice as fast. So I got a freakin 54 on the test. Its not the end of the world but it does nearly rule out an A which severely sucks. Damned timer!!! Also took the dog to his training apointment. The lady that does the class is alot like a very hyper dog herself. I don't think that she could have found a job that better suits her personality. She was like a whirling dervish being electrocuted. I thought she was a pretty great person. We walked the dogs around the store like crazy people. The dogs name is milk shake. I know, its disgusting naming a dog after a food. I call him shakes after the drunken clown in the movie Shakes the Clown. It has bobcat goldwait as a drunken clown. The movie is horrendous! Shakes is a very clutsy dog. He is going to be a huge dog too. He is very lazy and lays around alot but he jumps up on stuff. I just give a good old knee when he jumps up on me and he goes flyin'!! Claudia came home from grandmas on sunday. She was at her comedic best. She would run into the kitchen and look at us and say something at random, like kitty fight run go!!!! then she would scream and tear through the house like a crazy person. Then she come back and make weird faces at us and sing a really loud song then run off again. It wasn't really obnoxious it was just hilarious. Maybe it was annoying but I am sucker. Hmmmm... don't care. I saw a really great ampeg bass amp in the pawn shop and I thought about it and almost got it. It would have seriously improved my bass rig. I went back to check it out the next day but it was gone. Ho-hum...The still have some big peaveys. Pawn shopping has really gone down hill in charlotte. I used to find great band stuff all the time, but now, I can't find a decent bass amp. All I have is a 75 watt peavy basic 112. It isn't quite powerful enough. I need at least 150 watts. I have a 100 watt fender with a new 15 in it but I don't like the way it rattles so I don't use it except for practice. It is also just bare particle board. I saved it from a pawn shop. It was in horrendous shape when I got it. The person that had it before had shreded the covering somehow and then tried to spray some sort of rubber over the bare spots. It was pretty bad.

The worst interview ever

Well it is most definitely official, I had the worst interview of my life. The interviewer seemed unprepared and she spoke in a very choppy and unclear manner. She threw me way off of my comfort zone. She made it sound like my education wasn't very important and experience was key. She asked me if I knew how to read brokerage statements. I asked her what specifically I would be doing with them. She wasn't sure. I said that know all about mutual funds and I run and read reports here all the time. I am used to reading the horrible OMNI system and Power image system, so I should have not problem reading a brokerage statement. I have never seen a brokerage statement. There are two people that get to see the statements. The people that make them and the person that the report is for and maybe the garbage man when it gets thrown away. They don't send over the report for Ralph to check out in the completely unrelated department. I told her that I am an expert at excel. Which is true. I told her that I can use my experience here and at school to do whatever they need done. The interview was like 12 min long. I wanted off the phone in 2 minutes. It was so unnerving. I have got to hone my BSing skills.

Brian said he would send me an email when we could hang out. It'll be really good to see him again. I miss my old friends. Its so busy being a dad.

I am taking the dog to its training session on saturday and I am taking another exam. On sunday I have to do nothin much I think. I am sure that I will be doing some chore.

Ralph And THe New Haircut, Pumpin' Up the Old Ego!

I got a new haircut and put in the old contacts. Now people want to talk to me. I am so interesting now. It must have been because I looked like the jaundiced fifth Beatle there for a while. Well not anymore! I am stylin'! 2 months from now, back to beatle boy! Maybe a gnarly goatee too. I have job interview for the sr. business analyst position here at work. Fiddy G's! or Fifty Gs. They usually don't bother calling you unless they have you in mind for the job. That job will hopefully be more fun. Well, back to throwing coal into the furnace. I am a cog in a big wheel. Repeat. ad nauseum. I am a worker bee destined to die of exhaustion. Repeat. ad nauseum.

Lovin' life and eatin' chikin!

We had chicken from bojangles yesterday. That was really good. We played the Bible trivial pursuit game. The questions were so obscure. My Bible knowledge was greatly challenged. 2 out of 8 questions right! I consider that a passing score! School is still going well. One problem though, I asked a question online to the teacher and it has been almost a week and he has not answered it. I think he maybe ignoring me. Paranoid schyzo. I visited Brian Gryders website and I still think he is funny. Everybody else just thinks he's a jerk, but I think its funny. Maybe he's a funny jerk, but so am I, so maybe thats why I think he's so funny.

I guess we will be fasting from the TV and other electronical gadgets for 40 days pretty soon. By fasting I mean giving it up, not that we used to eat TVs and now we are stopping. It will be hard not catching House and thats it, thats all I watch on TV. I guess I'll miss watching movies. I maybe watch a movie a week. I am such a couch potato. I'll also sit through American Idol. Yes I am one of the 1.6 million viewers that watch the show. : ( I just like Simon. He is such a jack ass. He makes the show worth watching.

I got three new CDs. I wanted the Tom Waits CD orphans but I couldn't find it used and 30 bucks was too much. I got Good monsters by Jars of Clay, Building Rise by 429, and a Tom Petty CD. Olga and I got our hair done at the mall and then shopped for CDs. We also ate at steak and shake. We had the steak and the shake. Duh ha ha. That was on Saturday.

Oh well blogging was great fun but I have to go before IT catches me having fun and throughs me into the eternal flames of unemployment hell.
