Going on Vacation

My family and I are off to the great city of Atlanta Ga. The whole reason we're going is so that I can see the Cubs play the Braves. I love vacations that are all for me. : O) I dropped off the two little ones at mom's place and then stayed the night. It was so hot and sweaty in their house, that I thought about driving home at one o'clock in the morning. I toughed it out. It looks like I'll be finishing advanced auditing with an A. A very easy A. Grad school has been a 100 times easier than under-grad school. All I do is right papers about my opinions and if those opinions agree with what the teacher thinks are good opinions then voila, I get an A. I have a 3.85 GPA at this point. I have a chance to go to study abroad in Jordan and Israel for 2 weeks for an international business class for 2350$ and class credit. I don't know if I can really leave my family and go somewhere for that long. I'm still thinking about it. Layoffs are still pending here at good old safe job TIAA Cref. They let go 2 people yesterday. They are doing it so slow. I guess so they can prolong out agony. I already have everything packed up, so as to be ready. I don't want anybody touching my stuff. I also have all of my Computer records downloaded and saved to my email account. Better to be prepared and ready for the worst. ; )

Another day another dollah

I went out on a date yesterday with my wife. We went to Fosters and ate. The food was expensive and not good at all. The fries were soggy and the burger tasked like it had been frozen. Then we went to the mall and shopped around til closing. We got home about 10 and every single kid was still awake and running around acting like nutso's. They had evidently gotten into the chocolate and were hopped up on sugar. I finally got them to bed around 1130 P. bedtime is suppose to be 930P They owe me 2 hours. Everything else is going fine. Olga wanted a security system for the house. By the time somebody had tripped the alarm and the police got there, whoever broke in would have had time to steal the TV, hook it up and be watching Oprah. It takes the cops like an hour to get to our house. The station is 5 miles up the road! I didn't think it was worth it. Especially since the guy was requiring us to put a security sign in our yard. I thought man somebody is going to break in just because of the sign. To really dumb people security signs and keep out signs are just challenges to their animal natures. When I first put up my front yard fence, people would bump into just to test their boundaries with it!! that is what animals do. They think the fence is challenging it. Freakin unbelievable.

Shoe Hunter

I was out all day yesterday looking for a pair of basketball shoes. I think I'll just buy the walmart shoes. There are suppose to be some layoffs coming this week around thursday which is the last day of the month. The company will not have to pay benfits for august if they layoff that day. I guess they are trying to squeeze the last bit of honey out of us. I have all of my stuff packed up in a big box just in case. They don't let you go back to your desk once you have been summoned to the firing squad. I have almost completed repairs to the big bathroom. the paint and new fixtures look really good. I finally painted the door and it looks nice. I two toned everything in there. Its quite a work of art. Next up are new windows and a privacy fence. I have enough pickets to surround the whole house. Then I'll put up razor wire and gun turrets, land mines and a mote with pungy sticks at the bottom!!! My son has finally made a friend. His name is Hunter and is just like JD. He just yammers and yammers (talks). I called a guy about framing in the attic yesterday but he didn't call me back. I guess I'll call them again today.

July....2008....Feel Old, Feel Fat, Feel Baaaaad.

Hello non existant blogging world. I haven't blogged in like 2 months. Lets list out the things that happened.

1. My dad had open artery surgery to fix a clot in his neck. The doctor said he was having mini strokes. He's all better now.

2. I got a flat panel TV and a WII Fit. Now it is time to get fit. I am so sore and tired from playing it. Now I need to get Wii rock band and pretend to be a band. : (

3. We downsized the kids possessions. It took us 3 days but we finally got all of the kids things to a manageable level. They had more stuff between the three of them that I have had in my lifetime.

4. I got a grill for fathers day. It rocks. I cook da food outside.

5. We got one of those really lame above ground vinyl pools. It was on sale. I think that it is hideous, but its fun I have to admit. It is impossible to keep it clean though.

6. I go the house painted. Greenish. Next up is the roof. I have an adjustor from the insurance company coming out to inspect my possible hail damage and give me a new room. I can't wait.

7. I got a super deal on privacy fencing. I'm getting 670 5 inch fence planks for 536 dollars. This usually costs 1132 dollars. If I bought the fence premade it would be 1546.75. Now lets add it up. 536 plus 95 for 2X4s and 89 for 4X4s plus blood sweat and cursing equals 720 dollars. To have one installed it would be 4000 dollars. I are handy sucka.

8. We took the sunroom back from the kids. It is now a painting/incredibly pathetic lone musician room. I put the drums in the attic.

9. I am getting moved into the finance department at work soon. I'll be doing the exact same thing for the exact same amount of money. Everyone else will of course be making more money than I.

10. My GPA for my masters is right at 3.8. I've got 6 A's 2 B's. One of the B's was one single point from being an A. like 899 points out of 1000. The teacher said no rounding!!!

11. I read through most of my old comics. Most of them were extremly stupid. Especially the Lobo and Demon comics. I tossed them. The Hitman comics are all pretty good, and the Aliens comics are super.

I am the worst blogger in the world

I cannot seem to keep up with this blogging thing. Well the last month in synopsis....

We were going to get a loan to remodel our house but the guy that was going to do our loan quit right in the middle of the process. I took this as a very bad sign, so I cancelled the whole process.

Now we want to sell our house and buy a new house.

We measured our house the other day and it is 1500 sq feet and not 2100 like we had thought. The realtor said that when we bought it and so did the inspector. We never thought to question it. I had always thought well I can't buy a new house because we'll end up in something much smaller, but everything is 1500 sq ft. I just feel kindof stupid. : )

My old friend Brian's band is losing a member. I feel kindof bad for him. I offered to help out but he doesn't email me or reply to my comments on his blog so I guess oh well. I apologized for leaving the band before. I felt I should do that.

Isabella is starting to walk and she says cat dog momma dada angel JD claw (claudia) and gah guh and buh. She has her top two teeth and her bottom two teeth. She doesn't want to be held anymore and she likes to walk around the coffee table banging toys and she loves to play roll the ball.

Claudia is turning into a real athelete. She jumps and then runs really fast. She can catch and throw and kick really well for a 3 year old. Yesterday she said she wanted a violin. we asked her what that was and she made the hand motions and made a sound like a violin, very cute and funny.

JD is doing well. He continues in speech classes and balance classes. He is also doing well in school and has become teachable again. He has been stuck on telling us that he cant do certain things and won't tell us why he can't do something. It is very annoying.

Angel has been working for about a month at the maiden form store in the mall. She is doing very well. She keeps wasting all of her money though on everybody else. We went to the Skillet/1000 foot crutch concert. The sound was incredibly bad. The bass was kicked up so high you could not hear anything. I had to leave the building a couple of times. Mostly I just watched movies on my zen. I watched Mad Max and Robocop 3. The bands were okay but I don't really like live performances. I like the controlled sound of CDS anymore. I would like to see Tom Waits in concert.

I bought a new computer. Its a dell. it has all the bells and whistles. I got it on sale. it was 699. It has a quad processor, 4 gig ram, 256 mb video card, 500 gig HD dvd cd burner, tv tuner, sound b laster 5.1 sound card, unfortunately it has vista. I wish I could have gotten something else, but I'm not computer guy. I should be able to blow up some crap with that. We are going to combine that with a 32 in lcd tv that we are getting. It will be very cool. We are getting rid of both of our tube tvs and keeping just the one giant media center monster in the family room. It should give us better control over the content that our kids try to get into.

I found a bunch of my old comix. Bloodlines, AVP, The Demon, Hitman, Batman, Superman, and other assorted books. They are very stupid with the exception of AVP and the batman comix. The Demon and Superman books are very cheesy junk.

Oh well til next month...As Tom Waits would say...."Leave me alone you big ole moon...."

Easter and a whole month since last blogging

I spent Easter at my parents house. Everything went well. My aunt said the "N" word about 6 times. Everyone cringed everytime she said it. Uncomforable silences after every time. I got in some good nap times. a good 3 hour nap. Mom kept JD my 9 year old for the week. Yay! He's a good boy, but he makes my head hurt with his complex questions. Sometimes I just tell him that I don't feel like discussing the finer points of converting DVDs to nds format. I got a new laptop by selling my old laptop. I sold my dell for 485 and I bout a brand new laptop for 500 a toshiba.

The Toshiba has way more everything plus built in WIFI and yeek! Vista. Vista seems alright for what I do with it so no complaints. I guess people just love the Dell mystique of quality. Its not really true. Dells are no better than anything else. The Toshiba weighs about half of what the Dell does and it has a separate graphics card. The Rom feels very cheap and the locking mechanism does work very well.

I gave my son my old digital camera. I thought he was going to explode with excitement. I give him a month before it won't even turn on. He loves electronics but he thinks he is some sort of mad engineer scientist and he won't stop fiddling with things that don't need to be fiddled with, like the screen tolerance levels. Hmmmm...i wonder how hard I can push on this before it breaks.

It has been extremely hard figuring out how to treat JD since he has been diagnosed with Asberger Syndrome. The syndrome makes the kid really smart in some ways and very socially inept. He doesn't understand alot. He also tries to take advantage of this. He tries to get away with stuff by telling us that his syndrome made him do it. It does make him slow as all get out. He starts daydreaming and can't keep focus.

I made an A in my Federal Taxation course. That make 4 As and 1 B. Stupid B. I have a 3.8 GPA. I also took an IQ test and I scored a 144, which is genius level. Who da thunkt it. My wife scored a 104. She was really mad. She thought that we would both score around the 120s. I was really tired too so I probably missed some of the logic questions because I was sleepy. She made me take another test just to make sure and I scored another 144. Now I just need to make everybody understand me for the extremly intelligent awesomeness that is me. My superlative gray matter must be put to exponentially beneficial use. I hate that I took that test because now I feel my ego expanding. : )

The Homeless Library and Asperger

I went to our local Library or as I like to call, Club homeless people. The library has no good books and it is full of homeless people trying to get on to surf the web. Techi homeless people, what has our world become. I looked up 10 different books on aspergers syndrome and the reference said that they were all check in but they were not. Our Library in Concord is the main branch and they have the crappiest selection of books and movies. We suspect that our son JD has Aspergers Syndrome. It is kindof a very light form of autism. Einstien had it and Bill Gates has it. So the disease is manageable. The syndrome makes you kindof focus on certain things, to the exclusion of everything else, thus you become an expert at that one thing. Bill Gates, business, and einstien, physics. JD can't stop thinking about computers, electronics, cell technology, but he doesn't know much applicable knowledge, mainly just theory. I always thought he had some sort of autism by the way he would interact with people. You would be talking to him and having a conversation, but it was like he wasn't there. He didn't understand anything you said to him. One of the sydromes symptoms is that they cannot understand metaphor or sarcasm. JD definitely cannot understand these. If you say"go break a leg". He literally thinks that you want him to break his leg. If you say that your strength is like a bear. He thinks that you are like related to a bear or you are a bear. We have to completely change our parenting style. We thought that he was just disrespectful, arrogant, and lazy. He in actuality, cannot help it. He would always say that he didn't understand why he was in trouble for certain things, and I thought he was just playing dumb. He really didn't know why he was in trouble. According to his mind, he was just strolling along minding his own business, being perfect, when a big ogre, Me, came along and started to punish him for no reason. Well any way, its nice to have finally figured out what to do.
